How Zero-Knowledge Encryption Works

What is Zero-Knowledge? Your data is encrypted on your device before being sent to our servers. We never have access to your encryption keys or unencrypted data.

Your Recovery Code is the only backup way to access your encrypted data if you forget your password. It was shown to you once during registration.

Why we can't help: Even our administrators cannot decrypt your data. This protects you from data breaches, but means you must keep your recovery code safe.

What This Means for Your Data

  • All encrypted transactions are permanently inaccessible
  • Merchant names and transaction details cannot be decrypted
  • Analytics based on encrypted data will not be available

Your Options

Option 1: Search for Your Recovery Code

Check your:

  • • Downloaded text file (ratio-recovery-code-*.txt)
  • • Password manager (if you saved it there)
  • • Email inbox (you might have emailed it to yourself)
  • • Physical notes or printouts

Option 2: Reset Your Account

You can reset your password without the recovery code, but:

  • • All encrypted data will be permanently lost
  • • You can start fresh with a new recovery code
  • • Your account and workspace will remain active

Option 3: Contact Support

While we cannot recover your data, we can help you:
